Sofia R. Tuchapsky, LMHC
Sofia is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who provides psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, and couples. Sofia has a Masters in Forensic Psychology and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling and she has experience working with a variety of client populations in hospital and school settings. She specializes in treating anxiety and mood disorders, relationship issues, problems with impulsivity and anger management, stress management, addictions, and trauma/PTSD.
Sofia takes a holistic approach to therapy and considers all aspects of health - mind, body, and spirit - when caring for her clients. Drawing from Humanistic, Existential, and Cognitive-Behavioral-Informed theories of counseling and the practice of mindfulness, she provides a safe environment to allow her clients the space to heal and grow. Sofia takes an active yet gentle role and believes therapy is a collaborative and interactive process. She strives to offer her clients deep empathic listening, nonjudgmental acceptance, and therapeutic genuineness.
